Fall/Winter Tree, Shrub, & Perennial Care

Fall and winter are the prime time for performing perennial maintenance and major tree care.

This covers pruning, trimming down/back for the winter, and dividing the perennials. Our service would include having any dead, diseased or crossing-over tree branches removed, followed by structural pruning. Additionally, shrubs would be heavily pruned in what is called a rejuvenation pruning- this includes cutting certain stalks of the shrub back to the ground, then pruning the rest of the shrub to a smaller size and form. Middle-to-late fall is also the perfect time to perform deep root fertilization for trees and shrubs. The stress and drought of summer have passed, making it the perfect time to use this process to inject the ground with needed fertilizer and nutrients- promoting recovery and new growth in the spring. Call our office for more information at (314) 647-4800 and ask for our landscaping / fertilization department.
